Benefits of the Verse: “And when We gave Moses the Book and the Criterion, perhaps you will be guided”
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
In the noble verse, there is evidence for several benefits. First: that Moses was a prophet, indeed a messenger, because Allah gave him a Book, and everyone to whom Allah gives a Book is a messenger, as the Exalted said: [Al-Hadid 57:25].
Among them is: the praise of the Torah, where Allah the Exalted named it a Criterion.
Among them is: the wisdom in giving the Book and the Criterion to Moses, which is guidance.
Among them is: that knowledge is a cause of guidance, due to the attribution in His saying: But must the cause necessarily produce its effect, or can there be a preventer? A preventer can exist. Therefore, it is not valid for someone to say: “We find among the scholars those who are not guided.” We say: because of the existence of a preventer. Otherwise, the original rule is that knowledge is a cause of guidance, and guidance occurs through knowledge. However, there may be circumstances and deterrents that prevent a person from benefiting from the knowledge that Allah the Exalted has given him, as is well known. Then the Exalted said: We stop at this
and Does this refer here to the guidance of knowledge, or to knowledge and success? Knowledge is always present, and success is for whom Allah wills, and success is for whom Allah wills. But some people are guided, while others are not.
We have already sent Our messengers with clear evidences and sent down with them the Scripture and the balance
