The harm of adopting invalid, rhymed supplications.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And of this type is what is found now in some publications: supplications that are entirely invalid, consisting of rhymes that attract the heart and perhaps soften it and bring tears to the eye, but they are invalid. There is no doubt that these divert people from the Prophetic dhikr and supplications, whether their author intended that or not, even though it is apparent that those who composed them are from the people of Sufism who want to divert people from the lawful dhikr and lawful supplications to invalid dhikr.
I have seen such things being distributed in the mosques; you find a page or two filled with supplications that have no basis, but they are fabricated rhymes that are pleasant to the ear, although in reality they divert people from the prescribed remembrance of Allah. Therefore, it is obligatory for a person to be cautious of them and to warn the servants of Allah against them so that they are not deceived. Those who distribute them may have only a good intention, but those who authored them are the ones to be accused, and only the Knower of the Unseen knows what is in the hearts, but the result of their action is bad, whether they intended it or not. Yes.
