The questioner : He also says that, if Allah wills, he has bought his tent and packed his luggage, and he wants to travel for Hajj this year to complete what he has done in previous years of the journey with the righteous, so that perhaps Allah may have mercy on us all. But I want to provision myself for this Hajj. What is the provision? May Allah guide you.

The Shaykh : Allah the Mighty and Majestic says:
And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of Allah وَتَزَوَّدُوا فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ الزَّادِ التَّقْوَى
[Al-Baqarah 2:197]
So the best provision is that you fear Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) by doing His commands and avoiding His prohibitions. So you should strive to perform the prayer at its times in congregation, strive to be truthful in your words and deeds, strive to give advice to your brothers, to enjoin good and forbid evil, to advise one another to truth and to advise one another to patience, and to help those who need help with wealth, body, or status. And you should avoid what Allah has forbidden you from, such as delaying the prayer from its times, or leaving the congregational prayer, or neglecting any of its obligations, or lying, or backbiting, or talebearing, or harming creation by word or deed. You should avoid everything that Allah has forbidden you, for taqwa (mindfulness of Allah) is a comprehensive name for doing everything Allah has commanded and leaving everything He has forbidden, because it is derived from protection, meaning that a person takes protection for himself from the punishment of Allah, and there is no protection from the punishment of Allah except by doing His commands and avoiding His prohibitions.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.
