Reading from the author's text with commentary and collation of manuscripts: "If it is said

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions
As for what follows: Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If it is said: Allah has commanded us to take the Station of Ibrahim as a place of prayer, so other places should be analogized to it. It is said to him: This ruling is specific to the Station of Ibrahim in Makkah, whether it refers to the station near the Ka'bah, the place where Ibrahim stood"

The Shaykh : Whether?
The reader: "Whether it refers to the station near the Ka'bah, the place where Ibrahim stood, or it refers to the sacred sites: 'Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina. There is no dispute among Muslims that the sacred sites are distinguished in worship by what other places do not share, just as the House is distinguished by circumambulation. So what those places are distinguished by, other places are not analogized to it".

The Shaykh : Rather, it is said that a man from the kings vowed to Allah a vow to worship Allah with a form of worship in which no one would participate with him. People differed because there is no form of worship in which another person might not be engaged. If he prays, there may be people praying; if he fasts, there may be people fasting; if he gives charity, there may be people giving charity. So he consulted the scholars and went around to them, and one of them said: Clear the circumambulation path for him. If the circumambulation path is cleared for him and he circumambulates?
The student: No one participated with him.

The Shaykh : No one participates with him, because circumambulation is among the specific attributes of the Ka'bah. Yes.
... (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Station of Ibrahim
And take, [O believers], from the standing place of Abraham a place of prayer. واتخذوا من مقام إبراهيم مصلى
[Al-Baqarah 2:125]
it is possible that the intended meaning is his station beside the Ka'bah, and that the intended meaning is all his stations where he stood, such as Mina, 'Arafah, and Muzdalifah. Which of the two is more comprehensive?
The student: The second.

The Shaykh : The second is more comprehensive, it includes all of this. If someone says: The second is more comprehensive, no doubt, but the fact that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) recited when he approached the Station of Ibrahim
And take, [O believers], from the standing place of Abraham a place of prayer. واتخذوا من مقام إبراهيم مصلى
[Al-Baqarah 2:125]
does not this give preference to it being specific to this place? Perhaps we say so, and perhaps we say that the Messenger intended to explain the verse with part of it, to explain the verse with part of it.
So if it is said: Take the Station of Ibrahim as a place of prayer, and when a person goes to 'Arafah, he is not commanded to pray when his foot touches the ground of 'Arafah? We say: The word "place of prayer" (musalla) may mean the known place of prayer, and it may mean a place of supplication, because prayer in the Arabic language comes to mean supplication, as in the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Take, [O, Muhammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke [Allah 's blessings] upon them خذ من أموالهم صدقة تطهرهم وتزكيهم بها وصل عليهم
[At-Tawbah 9:103]
meaning?
The student: Pray for them.

The Shaykh : Pray for them. Yes.
