The Shaykh : He said: "And we believe that He, Glorified and Exalted is He, will come on the Day of Resurrection to judge between the servants" We believe in this, we affirm it, and we are certain of it, as if we are seeing it—O Usamah, drive away the Shaytan—as if we are seeing it with our own eyes. This is because Allah, the Exalted, has informed us of it, and our trust in what Allah has informed us of is greater than our trust in what we see, for our eyes may see a moving object as still, or a still object as moving, and black as white, or the reverse. But what Allah has informed us of is the truth.
"He will come on the Day of Resurrection to judge between the servants" So what is the evidence for this attribute? The evidence is the saying of Allah, the Exalted:[Al-Fajr 89:21] It will be crushed until no stone, mountain, or valley remains upon it. It will be crushed, leaving it a smooth, level plain, where you see no crookedness or elevation. [Al-Fajr 89:22] The address is to the Messenger, or to anyone to whom the address can apply. This means after the earth is crushed. So what is intended by His saying: The rule is that we believe in the texts based on what?
The student: On their apparent meaning.
The Shaykh : On their apparent meaning, and we say that Allah Himself has come. That is, Allah Himself has come. The term "the angels" refers to the category, encompassing all the angels, because it is reported that the angels of the lowest heaven descend and surround the creation, then the angels of the second heaven surround them all, then the third, and as the circle widens, the number is what?
The student: More
The Shaykh : More, and so on with the heavens. Now, the people of the second heaven are more numerous than the first, and the third is more numerous than the second, and so forth. This is because the heavens, as they rise higher, become wider.[Al-Fajr 89:22] This is the state of the angels, whether from the angels or from the angels, and what is conjoined and what is conjoined with it, from the angels. That is, the angels come in rows, row after row: the people of the lowest heaven, then the second, then the third, so the rows are seven, row by row. That is, with the Fire, may Allah protect me and you from it. And who brings it? It is brought, led by seventy thousand reins, each rein led by seventy thousand angels. How strong the angels are! No one knows the extent of their strength except Allah, Mighty and Majestic. So this Fire comes with seventy thousand reins, each rein led by seventy thousand angels. It is brought, and at that time hearts will be in a state of fear, they will look at the hearts, reaching the bottom of the heart with its awe and fear. Every person will be afraid, because a person does not know what his end will be; the matter has not yet become clear. Therefore, He said: [Al-Fajr 89:23] But will it benefit him to remember that day? No. Therefore, He said: That is, how far is the remembrance for him? The remembrance has ended. Remembrance is beneficial in this world before the term arrives. After the term arrives, there is no remembrance of the Day of Resurrection, no remembrance. But a person will remember the Day of Resurrection and say, "Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth," but it will not benefit him.
"He will come on the Day of Resurrection to judge between the servants" So what is the evidence for this attribute? The evidence is the saying of Allah, the Exalted:
No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushed -
كلا إذا دكت الأرض دكا دكاAnd your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank,
وجاء ربك والملك صفا صفاYour Lord will come
جاء ربكAnd your Lord has come
