And we believe in the scales that are set up on the Day of Resurrection, so that no soul is wronged in anything

The Shaykh : He said: "And we believe in the scales that are set up on the Day of Resurrection [Al-Anbya 21:47]".
"Al-mawazin" is the plural of "mizan" (scale). The scales are mentioned in the Book and the Sunnah sometimes in the plural and sometimes in the singular. Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Anbya 21:47] And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih al-Bukhari 7563. Reconciling them is very easy: the scales are pluralized either because of the great amount weighed by them, or because of their number in relation to the people, where every person has a scale, or in relation to the nations.
As for the singular, it is a singular form intended to convey generality, because it refers to the genus.
Then, what is weighed? Is the deed weighed, or is the doer weighed, or are the scrolls weighed?
All of this has been reported. There is what indicates that the doer is what is weighed, as in the authentic report of the story of Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), who went out walking one day when the wind was strong and kept pushing him over, and his legs were thin. He informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) This indicates that the doer is what is weighed.
It is also possible to argue for this with the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Kahf 18:105] However, there is another meaning in the verse, which is that we do not assign them any weight, meaning they are nothing in our sight, and we do not consider them to be anything.
As for the view that the deed is what is weighed, this is in the verse quoted by the author:[Az-Zalzalah 99:7] So the deed is what is weighed. And the Messenger (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him) said regarding "Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi, Subhan Allah al-Azim" (Glory be to Allah and His praise, Glory be to Allah the Magnificent): . If the deed is what is weighed, there is a problem, which is that the deed is a concept and not a body that can be weighed. How can this be?
The answer to this is to say that Allah the Exalted makes these concepts into bodies, just as He the Exalted makes death, which is a concept, into the form of a ram, which is a body. And Allah is capable of everything, able to make these concepts into visible, tangible bodies.
As for the third view, that the scrolls of deeds are what is weighed, this is in the hadith:. This indicates that what is weighed is what? The scrolls.
How is this reconciled? Because these are reports, not rulings, so we cannot say that some of them abrogate others. These are reports.
The reconciliation is to say that as for the scrolls and the deeds themselves, there is no contradiction, because it is possible that the deeds are weighed by the scrolls, so if the deed is heavy, it necessarily follows that the scroll is heavy.
As for the doer, that he is what is weighed, we might say that this happens for some people and not for others. This is a matter that returns to the will of Allah, and the intellect has no role in it.
He said:[Al-Anbya 21:47] "Shay'an" (something) is an indefinite noun in the context of negation, so it generalizes to any thing.
[Az-Zalzalah 99:7-8]. The weight of an atom is cited as an example of smallness, as in the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Good.
And who does less than an atom? Yes? I don't know. As long as the mention of the atom here is to indicate smallness, it is by way of example and not by way of specific limitation.
And Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Mu'minun 23:102-103].
In these verses is evidence that the scale is physical, and it is so. The Mu'tazilah said that it is not physical, and that there are no two pans, but rather the scale means establishing justice. So they denied what the Qur'an explicitly brought, and what the Sunnah also explicitly brought, based on what? Based on the fact that they take their beliefs from their intellects. And whatever their intellects derive, they deny. And there is no doubt that this is an error and that it entails false consequences, such as denying the news of Allah and the news of His Messenger, and distorting them into distant meanings.
So the scale, as we believe, is a what? A physical scale with two pans in which the deeds, or the scrolls of deeds, or the doers are weighed, according to what the texts have brought.
He said:[Al-Mu'minun 23:104]. These disbelievers will be wrapped in the Fire, and the faces are mentioned because they are the most affected, and because if the faces are tormented, that is the most humiliating for the person. He says: [Al-An'am 6:160] This explains how the scales will be. We say: As for the one who comes with a good deed, he will have ten times its like, and the one who comes with an evil deed will not be rewarded except with its like. And this is the least for which a person is rewarded regarding a good deed, otherwise the good deed is ten times its like up to seven hundred times up to many times, but the least is that he has ten times its like.
And it is known from the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-An'am 6:160] [Al-An'am 6:160] that if there were something that invalidates the good deeds, they would not benefit him, such as if a person were to apostatize, and may Allah protect us from that, then the good deeds would not benefit him even if he did them in this world, because Allah said: So the good deeds must reach the person on the Day of Resurrection. And likewise [Al-An'am 6:160], for a person may do an evil deed and then what? Repent from it, so he has not committed it.
We stop here. The time is up.
so no soul will be treated unjustly at all
Al-mawazin" is the plural of "mizan" (scale). The scales are mentioned in the Book and the Sunnah sometimes in the plural and sometimes in the singular. Allah the Exalted said:
And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection
ونضع الموازين القسط ليوم القيامةtwo words which are dear to the Beneficent (Allah) and very light (easy) for the tongue (to say), but very heavy in weight in the balance
As for the singular, it is a singular form intended to convey generality, because it refers to the genus.

That they are in the scale like Mount Uhud
It is also possible to argue for this with the saying of Allah the Exalted:
and We will not assign to them on the Day of Resurrection any importance.
As for the view that the deed is what is weighed, this is in the verse quoted by the author:
So whoever does an atom's weight of good
That they are heavy in the scale
The answer to this is to say that Allah the Exalted makes these concepts into bodies, just as He the Exalted makes death, which is a concept, into the form of a ram, which is a body. And Allah is capable of everything, able to make these concepts into visible, tangible bodies.
As for the third view, that the scrolls of deeds are what is weighed, this is in the hadith:
The owner of the card to whom great, numerous records of sins are extended, so when he sees that he is perished, it is said to him, "You have a good deed with us," and the card containing "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah) is brought, and he says, "O my Lord, what is this card compared to these records?" It is said, "You will not be wronged," then the card is placed in one pan and the records in the other, so the records fly away and the card becomes heavy

He said:
so no soul will be treated unjustly at all
(7) So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, (8) And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.
Whoever cuts off a span of the earth
And who does less than an atom? Yes? I don't know. As long as the mention of the atom here is to indicate smallness, it is by way of example and not by way of specific limitation.
And Allah the Exalted said:
(102) And those whose scales are heavy [with good deeds] - it is they who are the successful. (103) But those whose scales are light - those are the ones who have lost their souls, [being] in Hell, abiding eternally.
In these verses is evidence that the scale is physical, and it is so. The Mu'tazilah said that it is not physical, and that there are no two pans, but rather the scale means establishing justice. He said:
The Fire will sear their faces, and they therein will have taut smiles.
Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgement] with a good deed will have ten times the like thereof [to his credit], and whoever comes with an evil deed will not be recompensed except the like thereof; and they will not be wronged.
And it is known from the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgement] with a good deed
من جاء بالحسنةand whoever comes with an evil deed
Whoever comes
من جاءwhoever comes with an evil deed
