Chapter: This noble creed, which encompasses these great principles, yields for its adherent many noble fruits

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Good. He says: "Chapter: This Salafi creed, which encompasses these great principles, yields for its adherent many noble fruits".
The student: Noble.

The Shaykh : What?
The student: Noble.

The Shaykh : This creed.
The student: Noble.

The Shaykh : Well done. "This noble creed" means the elevated one, "which encompasses these great principles, yields for its adherent many noble fruits".
Yes. It certainly yields, but it yields only if it finds receptive soil. If you were to sow seed in salty land, would it yield? No, it would not. But in a garden among the gardens of the earth, it yields. So this creed yields when it meets a receptive place.
"So faith in Allah the Exalted, His names, and His attributes yields for the servant love of Allah and His magnification, which necessitate carrying out His command and avoiding His prohibition".
Yes, faith in Allah Mighty and Majestic includes love of Allah, because of what is in His names of forgiveness, mercy, and wisdom, and so on. It also yields magnification, for if you believe that He is All-Hearing, All-Seeing, All-Knowing, and severe in punishment, you fear Him and magnify Him. And through this love and magnification, one carries out the commands and avoids the prohibitions. Through love, one performs the commands, because performing the commands leads to the love of Allah. So if you love Allah, you strive in the means that lead to Him, Mighty and Majestic. And through magnification, one avoids the prohibitions, because if you magnify Him, you fear His punishment if you commit His disobedience. And through carrying out the commands and avoiding the prohibitions, happiness is found. For this reason, he said: "Through them, the perfection of happiness is achieved in this world and the Hereafter for the individual and society". This is a great fruit. Sometimes a person prefers the love of Allah over His reward, because he finds in his heart bliss, joy, expansion, and tranquility through the love of Allah. He says: If the people of Paradise are in such bliss, then they are in bliss. Sometimes the heart is visited by things; heedlessness and awareness, health and sickness, come to it. At times it reaches the degree where you say: If the people of Paradise are in this bliss, there is no bliss after it. But this is only at times, not in every state. However, at times your heart is filled with the love of Allah; you witness His mercy, His kindness, and His favor. For this reason, it came in the athar: "Love Allah for what He provides you of blessings". Reflect on yourself, and if Allah has spared you, provided for you, secured you, and facilitated your affairs, then love Him. If a sudden blessing comes to you, the constant blessings do not mean that a person does not see great favor in them because they are ongoing, but if a sudden blessing comes to you, such as being granted a child, do you not increase in your love for Allah? You do, without doubt, knowing His blessing upon you. For this reason, it is prescribed that when blessings are renewed, a person should prostrate in gratitude to Allah. So love Allah Mighty and Majestic for what He provides you of blessings. Then there is a rank and station higher than that, which is to love Allah Mighty and Majestic for the perfection of His wisdom, the perfection of His mercy, the perfection of His Shari'ah, and the perfection of His decree, Mighty and Majestic. This is stronger than the first: to love Allah for the perfection of His attributes, not just for the perfection of His favor and kindness, but for the perfection of His attributes and the perfection of His kindness, Mighty and Majestic, and His favor.
So faith in Allah yields this noble fruit. There is no happiness above this noble fruit. By Allah, not palaces, nor wives, nor sons, nor luxurious vehicles, nor any bliss equals this. For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:
Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer من عمل صالحا من ذكر أو أنثى وهو مؤمن
[An-Nahl 16:97]
Look
And he is a believer. وهو مؤمن
This is a circumstantial phrase that qualifies; righteous deeds do not benefit without faith. He says:
while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life وهو مؤمن فلنحيينه حياة طيبة
[An-Nahl 16:97]
How great is the Qur'an and the One who speaks it
We will give him a good life فلنحيينه حياة طيبة
And He did not say "We will provide for him," or "We will enrich him," or "We will increase his wealth." He said:
We will give him a good life فلنحيينه حياة طيبة
The good life is even with sickness, even with poverty, even with tribulation. The person is tranquil, patient with the divine decree and destiny of Allah, and pleased with it. And this is the good life. In times of calamity, he looks only to Allah Mighty and Majestic, asking Him for reward and hoping for the removal of the trial. And then his life becomes sweet. But the one who has no faith, or who has faith but his deeds are deficient, you find that every calamity brings regret to his heart, because he does not hope for reward or expiation of sins, since his concern is to be in enjoyment in this world. So if he misses the enjoyment, even for a moment, he is sad and his anxiety persists. But the one who is with Allah, patient with His decree, patient with His decree, and seeking reward for it, you find him always joyful. Even in calamities, he is sad, but he does not see it as retribution from Allah Mighty and Majestic, except for the benefit of that man. And for this reason, he said:
We will give him a good life فلنحيينه حياة طيبة
This is the reward in this world. In the Hereafter,
and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do. ولنجزينهم أجرهم بأحسن ما كانوا يعملون
[An-Nahl 16:97]
meaning: with the reward of the best deed. In other words, they are rewarded with the best reward for every deed. Deeds differ and their rewards differ, but he is rewarded for every deed with the best reward. The meaning is not that he is rewarded with the reward of prayer for one who did a slight obedience, but rather that he is rewarded with the best reward for every deed, and every deed according to its measure.
Good. Some of the Salaf said: "If the kings and the sons of kings knew what we are in, they would fight us for it with swords". The kings have been given the fullness of this world, is that not so? They are honored and respected, people serve them, and their affairs are made easy for them. But the peace of their hearts is not like the peace of the believer whose heart is connected to Allah. Never, no matter what, you find him sleeping with worry and waking with worry. No, rather, he sleeps with sorrow and wakes with worry. But the believer sleeps in obedience to Allah and wakes in obedience to Allah. When he sleeps,
It is with Thine (grace) that I place my side (upon the bed) and it is with Thee that I take it up (after sleep), and in case You withhold my being (if You cause me to die), then grant pardon to my being, and if You keep (this process of breathing on), then protect it with that with which You protected Your pious servants. اللهم بك وضعت جنبي وبك أرفعه، إن أمسكت روحي فاغفر لها وارحمها، وإن أرسلتها فاحفظها بما تحفظ به عبادك الصالحين
Sahih Muslim 2714a
and he entrusts his affair to Allah. When he wakes:
Praise is to Allah Who has given us life after taking it from us, and unto Him is the Resurrection الحمد الذي أحيانا بعد ما أماتنا وإليه النشور
Sunan Ibn Majah 3880Sahih (Darussalam)
You find him always in the remembrance of Allah, when he sleeps and when he is awake, and his heart is always alive, alive with the remembrance of Allah Mighty and Majestic.
