The Shaykh : So we continue. He said: "And among the fruits of faith in the Hereafter", which is the faith that Allah the Exalted always pairs with faith in Him: [Al-Baqarah 2:8]. There are many verses in this regard; Allah the Exalted pairs faith in Him with faith in the Hereafter, because one who does not believe in the Hereafter cannot believe in the messengers or worship through obedience, because he sees that he lives in this world as long as Allah wills him to live, and then his affair ends. It is not possible for a person who does not believe in the Hereafter to remain steadfast in obedience forever. But faith in the Hereafter drives a person to act in obedience to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, by doing what He commands and leaving what He forbids. For this reason, Allah always addresses, yes, for this reason Allah always addresses those who believe [Al-Baqarah 2:104], indicating that the implication of faith is righteous action.
Faith in the Hereafter has among its benefits:
"Striving to obey Allah the Exalted, desiring the reward of that Day, and staying away from His disobedience, fearing the punishment of that Day". This is among its fruits. Undoubtedly, if a person believes in the Hereafter, he strives to obey Allah, desiring what? His reward, and he avoids the disobedience of Allah, fearing His punishment.
And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah and the Last Day," but they are not believers.
