Commentary on Tafsir al-Jalalayn: “O my people, the sovereignty is ours today, dominant” in the land, the land of Egypt, “so who will save us from the wrath of Allah”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
And His saying:
In the ground.
The commentator said: "the land of Egypt". Accordingly, the "land" in the phrase refers to the land known by mental agreement, meaning the land you know, which is your land.
al- ال

"
But who would protect us from the punishment of Allah
[Ghafir 40:29]
His punishment
If it comes to us إن جاءنا
"
Who will help us? The "who" here is interrogative in the sense of negation, meaning no one will help us. "Help" here means prevention, so who will prevent us from the wrath of Allah? And "wrath" is punishment. And His saying:
If it comes to us إن جاءنا
means if it befalls us, will anyone help us? Even if we were currently manifest in the land and we were kings, if the wrath of Allah befalls us, no one will prevent it. And the commentator's saying: "if you kill His friends" It can be said that what the commentator specified is indicated by the context, because He rebuked them for killing Musa. It can also be said that the meaning is if you remain in disbelief and aggression, and from that is the killing of Musa. This is more correct and more comprehensive, meaning what will help us from the wrath of Allah if it comes to us because we are deserving of this punishment through disbelief and the killing of His friends.
Pharaoh said in response to this man:
I do not show you except what I see, and I do not guide you except to the way of right conduct." ما أريكم إلا ما أرى وما أهديكم إلا سبيل الرشاد
[Ghafir 40:29]
The most false statement on earth is this:
I do not show you except what I see
[Ghafir 40:29]
meaning I do not show you anything until you see it except what I see as the truth, and this is a false claim because he knows that the truth is in following Musa (Moses), as Musa (Moses) said to him:
[Moses] said, "You have already known that none has sent down these [signs] except the Lord of the heavens and the earth as evidence, and indeed I think, O Pharaoh, that you are destroyed."
[Al-Isra 17:102]
And Allah the Exalted said:
And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof
[An-Naml 27:14]
But they denied it
in injustice and arrogance ظلما وعلوا
So he is saying:
I do not show you except what I see
[Ghafir 40:29]
meaning I do not see it as correct and as the truth, and this claim is false. And if he meant I do not show you anything except what I see as being in my interest, then this is true but he is a deceiver. In any case, the sentence is a basis for accountability because it is either a lie or deception. It is a lie if he is saying:
I do not show you except what I see
[Ghafir 40:29]
is correct, or it is deception if he sees that the truth is contrary to what he shows them, but for his interest he shows them what he sees.
He said its meaning is: “I do not advise you except with what I advise myself, which is killing Musa (Moses)” This is also a specification in an inappropriate place, because Pharaoh does not care whether they say kill Musa (Moses) or do not kill him, because he is determined on what he wants. But the most important thing is that they do not disbelieve in him, that they do not change his religion. And on this basis, the intended meaning of his saying:
except what I see إلا ما أرى
[Ghafir 40:29]
is in your remaining in your religion. This is the meaning of the verse, because the original rebuke of Musa (Moses) and the threat to kill him originated from his fear that the religion would be changed.
He said:
I do not show you except what I see, and I do not guide you except to the way of right conduct." ما أريكم إلا ما أرى وما أهديكم إلا سبيل الرشاد
[Ghafir 40:29]
meaning I do not guide you except to the path of success. Success is the opposite of error, and for this reason it is said success and error:
The right course has become clear from the wrong
[Al-Baqarah 2:256]
meaning correctness and soundness. And path means way. And he is the most false of the liars in this, because he does not guide them to the path of success, but he guides them to the path of error, stubbornness, arrogance, and disbelief. So he became a liar in both sentences:
I do not show you except what I see
[Ghafir 40:29]
If we say the meaning is I do not see it as correct,
and I do not guide you except to the way of right conduct." وما أهديكم إلا سبيل الرشاد
[Ghafir 40:29]
he is also a liar because without doubt he guides them to the path of error and corruption.
