regarding the fact that the Qur'an is more prone to being forgotten than other sciences and wisdom

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student: If a person reads the books of the scholars and then forgets many of the sayings, is there a difference between forgetting the Qur'an and forgetting other things? And is this a sin?

The Shaykh : Forgetting is something from which no person is exempt, even the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) read one day and forgot a verse from the Book of Allah; no one is safe from it. However, the Qur'an requires more care due to the command of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to attend to it. The Qur'an is the most prone to being forgotten among things; for example, if you memorize a text from the texts of Islamic jurisprudence, it does not require much attention, but the Qur'an must be attended to frequently, otherwise you will forget it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Attend to the Qur'an, and by Him in whose hand is my soul, it is more prone to slipping away or escaping than camels from their pens. تعهدوا القرآن والذي نفسي بيده لهو أشد تفصيا أو تفلتا من الإبل في عقولها
The wisdom behind the fact that the Qur'an is forgotten more than other things is:
First: It is a trial so that Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) knows who is eager to memorize the Qur'an and who is not.
Second: The abundance of reward and recompense for its repetition, for every letter carries ten good deeds.
Third: So that the remembrance of Allah the Exalted remains in your heart, because the Qur'an is the speech of Allah. If you are reading the Qur'an, it is as if you are conversing with Allah (Mighty and Majestic), because you are reading His speech (Glorified and Exalted is He). For this reason, Allah the Exalted made it part of His wisdom that it is forgotten quickly so that you strive to attend to it.
