The benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “And as for those who defend themselves after having been wronged, there is no blame upon them.”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
In this noble verse: there is the affirmation of the love of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) for those who possess justice and equity. Do you understand? The implication is that the one who is not a wrongdoer.
And among its benefits: the establishment of the attribute of love for Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and this issue is a matter of creedal discussion. The indication is that when He negated His love for the wrongdoers, that implies that He must love the just, those who possess equity. This argument is similar to the argument of al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) that the believers will see Allah, based on His saying regarding the wicked:
No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. كلا إنهم عن ربهم يومئذ لمحجوبون
[Al-Mutaffifin 83:15]
He said: If He were veiled from everyone, then the negation would be of no benefit.
And among the benefits of this noble verse is the warning against injustice. The indication is that in injustice lies the absence of Allah’s love for the servant. And what a great loss it is for one who has lost Allah’s love for him. O Allah, I ask You for Your love, the love of those who love You, and the love of the deeds that bring us closer to Your love.
And among the benefits of the verse: that one who defends himself after being wronged has no objection raised against him, based on His saying:
And whoever avenges himself after having been wronged - those have not upon them any cause [for blame]. ولمن انتصر بعد ظلمه فأولئك ما عليهم من سبيل
[Ash-Shuraa 42:41]
.
And among its benefits: that the absence of blame for one who defends himself is conditional upon the verification of the injustice, based on His saying:
And whoever avenges himself after having been wronged ولمن انتصر بعد ظلمه
[Ash-Shuraa 42:41]
As for acting on mere suspicion, it is not permissible. It is necessary that you verify that you have been wronged before you defend yourself.
