Ruling on following the imam for one who is outside the mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: To the honorable brother, Shaykh M. K. S. N., in Nice, France. May Allah grant you understanding. Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings. And after that:
I have reviewed the question you sent by phone, which is: What is the ruling on women following the imam when they are praying in a room on the ground floor of the mosque, within the association’s offices?

A: As for women praying in a room on the ground floor with the mosque congregation, they may not follow the imam; because a condition for following the imam for one who is outside the mosque is that he sees the imam or the followers in the most correct opinion of the scholars, and merely hearing the imam’s voice is not sufficient except for one who is inside the mosque. So I ask you to be aware of this. May Allah bless you, and grant us and you beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds, for He is the All-Hearing, the Near.
And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
