One who misses the Friday prayer prays the midday prayer
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: If I do not pray the Friday prayer with the congregation in the mosque, should I pray it at home as two units with the intention of Friday prayer, or should I pray four units with the intention of the midday prayer?
A: One who does not attend the Friday prayer with the Muslims due to a valid religious excuse, such as illness or otherwise, or for other reasons, prays the midday prayer. Likewise, a woman prays the midday prayer, and likewise a traveler and the inhabitants of the desert prays the midday prayer, as indicated by the Sunnah. This is the opinion of the majority of scholars, and there is no consideration for those who deviate from them. Likewise, one who intentionally leaves it should repent to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) and pray it as the midday prayer.
