The Ruling on Burying Baha'is in Muslim Cemeteries
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Those who adopted the doctrine of (Baha'ullah), who claimed prophethood and also claimed that Allah dwelt in him, is it permissible for Muslims to bury these disbelievers in Muslim cemeteries?
A: If the Baha'i belief is as you mentioned, there is no doubt in their disbelief and that it is not permissible to bury them in Muslim cemeteries; because whoever claims prophethood after our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is a liar and a disbeliever by explicit text and the consensus of the Muslims; because that is a denial of the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Al-Ahzab: 40] and the hadiths that were mass-transmitted from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he is the Seal of the Prophets and there is no prophet after him.
Likewise, whoever claims that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, dwelt in him, or in any of the creation, is a disbeliever by the consensus of the Muslims; because Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, does not dwell in any of His creation, rather He is more exalted and greater than that, and whoever says that is a disbeliever by the consensus of the Muslims, denying the verses and hadiths indicating that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is above the Throne, having risen and elevated Himself above all His creation, and He, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the Most High, the Great, who has no equal and no likeness, and He has made Himself known to His servants by His saying, Glorified and Exalted is He: [Al-A'raf: 54] and in His saying, Glorified and Exalted is He: [Ta-Ha: 5] and in His saying, Mighty and Majestic: [Ghafir: 12] and His saying, Glorified and Exalted is He: [Fatir: 10] and other numerous verses indicating His exaltation and elevation above His Throne and His rising above it; a rising befitting His majesty and greatness, not resembling His creation in what they rise upon, and no one knows how He rose except He, Glorified and Exalted is He, just as no one knows how His Essence is except He .
And this which I have clarified for you regarding the One who created, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the belief of the people of the Sunnah and the community, upon which the Messengers (peace be upon them) proceeded, and upon which their Seal, Muhammad the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), proceeded, and upon which his righteous successors and his satisfied Companions and those who followed them in goodness proceeded until this day.
And know, my brother, that I have not read anything from the books of the Baha'is up to this date, but I have learned through widespread knowledge that it is a misguided, disbelieving sect that has gone outside the circle of Islam, and in accordance with what was mentioned in the question, the answer has been obtained.
Then, after writing the answer, I looked into a dialogue between a Sunni and a Baha'i published by the magazine (Al-Hidayah al-Nabawiyyah) for the supporters of the Sunnah in Cairo in four issues, of which I read three issues issued in Ramadan and Dhul Qa'dah, two of which were issued in the year 1368 AH, and the third in Rabi' al-Thani of the year 1369 AH. The Baha'i explicitly stated in this dialogue that Baha'ullah is the messenger of the Baha'i sect, claiming that he is a messenger who abrogates the laws before him, abrogating them by modification and softening, and that every era needs a messenger. He also explicitly denied the angels, stating that the reality of the angels is the high souls of the believers. The apparent meaning of his words is also the denial of bodily resurrection and the denial of what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) informed about the Dajjal. There is no doubt that the Baha'i's claim of (messengership) and his assertion that every era needs a messenger is explicit disbelief. And Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the One who grants success, and there is no power and no strength except by Him. And we ask Allah for us and for you and for all our believing brothers success in knowing the truth and following it, for He is the Generous, the Bountiful. And all praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
And may Allah send prayers and peace upon His servant and His messenger, our master and our imam, Muhammad ibn Abdullah, and upon his family and his Companions and those who follow them in goodness until the Day of Judgment.

Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets
مَا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَا أَحَدٍ مِنْ رِجَالِكُمْ وَلَكِنْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّينَLikewise, whoever claims that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, dwelt in him, or in any of the creation, is a disbeliever by the consensus of the Muslims; because Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, does not dwell in any of His creation, rather He is more exalted and greater than that, and whoever says that is a disbeliever by the consensus of the Muslims, denying the verses and hadiths indicating that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is above the Throne, having risen and elevated Himself above all His creation, and He, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the Most High, the Great, who has no equal and no likeness, and He has made Himself known to His servants by His saying, Glorified and Exalted is He:
Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne

فَالْحُكْمُ لِلَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْكَبِيرِTo Him ascends good speech, and righteous work raises it
إِلَيْهِ يَصْعَدُ الْكَلِمُ الطَّيِّبُ وَالْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ يَرْفَعُهُAnd this which I have clarified for you regarding the One who created, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the belief of the people of the Sunnah and the community, upon which the Messengers (peace be upon them) proceeded, and upon which their Seal, Muhammad the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), proceeded, and upon which his righteous successors and his satisfied Companions and those who followed them in goodness proceeded until this day.
