Is it permissible to pray outside the mosque?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The honorable Shaykh, the attendance is very large outside the mosque, and you are required to issue a ruling or answer us on how we should perform the 'Isha' prayer, given that there are no prayer mats. Is the prayer valid on the asphalt?

The Shaykh : What is not there?

The questioner : There are no prayer mats.

The Shaykh : Yes, we say there is nothing wrong with people praying outside the mosque, even on the ground, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
the earth has been made for me a place of worship and a means of purification. جعلت لي الأرض مسجدا وطهورا
Sunan Ibn Majah 567Sahih (Darussalam)

The questioner : In the name of Allah, and praise is to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and companions, and whoever follows them. Now it is the turn for the questions. All of them are filled with sweet praise and abundant supplication for the honorable Shaykh, asking that Allah take care of him, preserve him, and grant him long life in obedience to Him, as is His custom. They are also charged with expressions of love for him in Allah, so that we do not need to repeat them in every question.
