Explanation of the author's statement: "As for the second intercession, he intercedes for the people of Paradise so that they may enter Paradise, and these two intercessions are specific to him"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He said: "As for the second intercession: he intercedes for the people of Paradise so that they may enter Paradise". This is because when the people of Paradise cross the Sirat, they stop at a bridge—the bridge is a bridge over water, and this bridge is said to be the end of the Sirat that is over the Fire, and Allah knows best—the important point is that they are stopped at this bridge, and retribution is taken from some of them for what they did to others. This retribution is not the retribution that took place in the open spaces of the Day of Resurrection, but it is a more specific retribution, in which Allah purifies the hearts and removes what is in them of grudges and malice. For the first retribution, although the oppressor is punished and the right of the oppressed is taken, some residue may remain in the souls. As for this final retribution, it is for the purification and cleansing of the hearts. So retribution is taken from some of them for what they did to others. When they are refined and purified, permission is given for them to enter Paradise.
But when they come to Paradise, they do not find it open as the people of the Fire find it. The people of the Fire
until, when they reach it, its gates are opened حتى إذا جاؤوها فتحت أبوابها
[Az-Zumar 39:71]
. When these people come to it, the doors are not opened until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intercedes for the people of Paradise so that they may enter it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intercedes, and the doors are opened, and every person enters from the gate of the deed in which he was most diligent compared to others. Otherwise, a Muslim may be called from all the gates.
Good. This intercession is established by authentic hadiths from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Qur'an points to it, because Allah said regarding the people of Paradise:
until, when they reach it while its gates have been opened حتى إذا جاؤوها وفتحت أبوابها
[Az-Zumar 39:73]
. This indicates that there is something between their arrival at it and the opening of the doors.
Good, this is specific to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
There is also a third intercession specific to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that does not apply to anyone else, which is the intercession for his uncle Abu Talib. As is established in the two Sahihs and others, Abu Talib died upon disbelief, and the favor of Allah is given to whom He wills. The uncles of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) were four; the most famous of them are: Abu Lahab, who did great harm to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); and Abu Talib, who did good to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). And among the wisdom of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is that he remained upon his disbelief, because if it were not for his disbelief, this defense of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) would not have occurred; he would have been harmed just as the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was harmed. But due to his great status among the Quraysh and his remaining on their religion, they honored him, and the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) gained some protection from that side. Good.
The third uncle was al-Abbas, and the fourth was Hamzah. Hamzah is better than al-Abbas, to the extent that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) named him the Lion of Allah and the Lion of His Messenger. He was killed as a martyr at Uhud (may Allah be pleased with him and grant him satisfaction).
Good, the important point is that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) permitted His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) to intercede for Abu Talib, even though he was a disbeliever. This is an exception to the saying of the Exalted:
So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. فَمَا تَنْفَعُهُمْ شَفَاعَةُ الشَّافِعِينَ
[Al-Muddaththir 74:48]
. However, this intercession did not take him out of the Fire; rather, he was in a shallow part of the Fire, and he had two slippers of Fire from which his brain boiled, I seek refuge in Allah. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
had It not been for me, he would have been in the bottom of the (Hell) Fire. ولولا أنا، لكان في الدرك الأسفل من النار
Sahih al-Bukhari 3883
So this is an intercession, but it is specific to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Is this for the sake of Abu Talib's personality? No, but for the sake of what occurred of his defense of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions, Allah permitted His Prophet to intercede for him with this intercession, which is considered an intercession that is not complete. Yes.
The author said: "And this intercession" And this, yes.
