Explaining the Wisdom in the Responses of the People of the Sunnah to the Deniers of Divine Attributes and the People of Innovation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Every word of the author here, his saying: "and the second heart", all of it is directed at whom? At the people of denial of the divine attributes (ta'til) from the Mu'tazilah, the Jahmiyyah, the Asha'irah, and others. Each of them receives from these descriptions according to the extent of his denial, as a fitting recompense. The one who denies the attributes purely deserves all these descriptions, and the one who denies them to a lesser extent deserves what he deserves from these descriptions. There is no doubt that this is a transgression against the texts and against the Lord of the Worlds, to distort His Book and the speech of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) into meanings that Allah and His Messenger did not intend, merely for the sake of following desire in those who exercise independent legal reasoning among them, and blind following in those who follow without knowledge among them. The author (may Allah have mercy on him)—do not say that he exaggerated and went to excess, for he lived among them and debated them, and they exhausted him and he exhausted them. It is not like us now; we do not have anyone to debate us on this or discuss it with us. But he and his Shaykh (may Allah have mercy on them) had great arenas with these deniers of attributes and innovators, so they deserved to be described with these descriptions, because in reality they had exhausted them. But praise be to Allah for what He (Glorified and Exalted is He) gave them of knowledge, faith, intellect, and understanding, they were able to control the situation and place those people under their feet, just as the People of the Sunnah were previously under the feet of those people, as the author (may Allah have mercy on him) will indicate in this poem. Is there any question? Except at the time of asking, yes.
