The Response to Those Who Said That the Abrogation of the Qur'an Is Not Permissible

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : There is a doubt that was raised regarding the verse:
We do not abrogate a verse or cause it to be forgotten except that We bring forth [one] better than it or similar to it مَا نَنْسَخْ مِنْ آيَةٍ أَوْ نُنْسِهَا نَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍ مِنْهَا أَوْ مِثْلِهَا
[Al-Baqarah 2:106]
. They said, is the Sunnah not like the Qur'an?

The Shaykh : Perhaps you are forgetting a hadith, no.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : If you are not forgetting.

The questioner : No, we are not.

The Shaykh : Be patient. If you are not forgetting, you must remember that "forgetting" is one of the two things, which is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Let none of you sit on his couch and say: This is the Book of Allah; so whatever we find therein as lawful, we make lawful, and whatever we find therein as forbidden, we make forbidden. Do I not have the Qur'an and its like and with it?
. So, you remember or mentioned one of the two. But here is something that perhaps our brothers can help us with, and they may even be more knowledgeable about it than we are: that "likeness" does not imply "similarity" in every aspect. Perhaps you remember this. So, the objection is not valid from the start, correct? Good, do you have anything else?

The questioner : Our Shaykh, what Allah willed, because the "likeness" here carries the ruling, not the abrogator itself. And Allah knows best. May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And beware of that.
Other than that?
