One who dies with fasting owed fasts for which his guardian fasts on his behalf

Question: Your Eminence, Shaykh 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Baz (may Allah preserve him).
Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings, and after that:
We have a daughter who passed away two days ago, and she had days of Ramadan left to make up. Please inform us: should we fast those days on her behalf, or give charity on her behalf, or both fast and give charity? Please inform us. May Allah reward you and guide you to what is best for Islam and the Muslims, and peace be upon you.
Answer: And upon you be peace, and Allah’s mercy and blessings, after that:
If the daughter died from her illness after the festival, she owes nothing, neither making up the fasts nor feeding people. However, if she was healthy after the festival and able to fast, and death occurred due to an unexpected event, it is prescribed for you to fast on her behalf for the number of days that passed after the festival while she was healthy.
