There is no blame on you for staying in Jeddah while in the state of ihram

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: I went for 'Umrah in Ramadan with my mother, and we entered the state of ihram on the plane above Abqar. We landed in Jeddah and stayed there. When we broke our fast, we went to Makkah in the evening to perform the 'Umrah. We did not remove our ihram until we had completed it. Do we owe anything, given that we stayed for a while in Jeddah while in the state of ihram? Please advise us. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer: If the situation is as you described, then you and your mother owe nothing for staying in Jeddah while in the state of ihram. This is because it is not obligatory for one in the state of ihram to continue traveling until he performs the 'Umrah. Rather, he may rest along the way and stay in whatever place he wishes for a need that calls for it, while remaining in the state of ihram. May Allah guide them all.
