I Did Not Buy Gold for My First Wife, Then Married a Second Who Asked for It; Is That Injustice?

Question: I am a man who has been married for fourteen years, and I have five children, praise be to Allah. After that, I married a second wife who is a relative. At the time of the marriage, my maternal uncle did not condition anything on me except for clothing. Now I want to buy her gold, but I am afraid of being unjust to the first wife if I buy for the second without buying for the first. Guide me so that I do not fall into injustice?

Answer: It is obligatory for you to be just between the two wives in financial maintenance, clothing, and jewelry, unless one of them is satisfied with her co-wife having more than her, in which case there is no harm. If one of them has more children with you than her co-wife, you must increase her financial maintenance according to her need. It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) what indicates the obligation of justice between wives, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to be just between them and say: .
And Allah the Exalted said: the verse [al-Ahzab: 21]. And success is from Allah.
