Ruling on the one who says to his wife: (Divorced, divorced)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: The husband, E. A. Y., came to me and the aforementioned husband admitted that he became angry with his aforementioned wife and said to her: (Divorced, divorced). This was about a year ago, and then he took her back. Then he became angry with her on 14/1/1390 AH and divorced her with one divorce. When her father was asked, he answered that he did not know about the first divorce. He had asked his daughter about it, and she admitted to it, stating that it occurred with the wording her husband used. When the husband was asked about his intention in repeating the divorce in the first instance, he answered that he did not intend anything, but rather repeated it because of anger. They both admitted that nothing occurred from the aforementioned husband except that.

Answer: Based on her admission, I issued a ruling to the aforementioned husband that one divorce had occurred with his aforementioned wife through the first divorce, and that the second wording is considered a confirmation of the first, and nothing is added to that last divorce by it. One divorce remains for his wife, and he may take her back as long as she is in the waiting period. He took her back in my presence, in the presence of her father and a group of Muslims, and thereby she became under the protection of the aforementioned husband. This was stated by the one who is poor in need of the forgiveness of his Lord, Abdul Aziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz, Deputy President of the Islamic University of Madinah al-Munawwarah. May Allah forgive him, and may Allah send prayers and peace upon His servant and messenger Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
