Boycotting the husband or the wife
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: If a wife becomes angry with her husband for a worldly reason and cuts off communication and companionship with him for a specific period lasting days, what is the ruling on that? And is there a word about the rights of the husband over his wife?
Answer: It is obligatory for the wife to obey her husband in what is right, and it is not permissible for her to boycott him except for a legitimate religious reason. He, too, must treat her with kindness and not boycott her except for a religious matter. This is based on the saying of Allah (Mighty and Majestic): : [Surat al-Nisa: 19] and His saying (Glorified and Exalted is He): [Al-Baqarah 2:228] the verse [Surat al-Baqarah: 228].
And based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):. And success is from Allah.
