The Meaning of the Hadith: "And I dislike stirring up evil against anyone"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
His saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
I dislike to let evil spread among my people.وأكره أن أُثير على أحدٍ شرًّا
Sahih al-Bukhari 5765
(in the story of the sorcery of Labid the Jew)?

Answer:
The commentator did not address this, and it appears that there is some omission in the passage, and that his intention was that he would do something that people would know, meaning: he would do something to Labid and those who helped Labid, and he preferred that the matter die out and end; because of what happened to him in removing the sorcery and putting an end to it.
