Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And Harun ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to me, and Hujjaj ibn Muhammad narrated to us, saying: Ibn Jurayj said: Abu al-Zubayr informed me that he heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Aymen, the freed slave of 'Aziz, asking Ibn 'Umar, while Abu al-Zubayr was listening, what he thought of a man who divorced his wife while she was menstruating. He said:
Ibn 'Umar divorced his wife while she was menstruating during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So 'Umar asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), saying: "Indeed, 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar has divorced his wife while she is menstruating." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Let him take her back." So he took her back. He said: "When she becomes pure, let him divorce her or keep her." Ibn 'Umar said: And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited: "O Prophet, when you divorce women, divorce them at the beginning of their waiting period."
.

The Shaykh : This means at the beginning of the waiting period, at the start of the waiting period, meaning at its commencement. This is the same meaning as "divorce them for their waiting period," because His saying "divorce them for their waiting period" is like His saying, Exalted is He:
Establish prayer at the decline of the sun أقم الصلاة لدلوك الشمس
, meaning at its time. Yes.
