The reciter: Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Numayr narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, saying: 'Ubayd Allah narrated to us from Nafi' from Ibn 'Umar, who said:
I divorced my wife during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while she was menstruating. 'Umar mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "Tell him to take her back, then let her remain with him until she becomes pure, then let her menstruate another period. When she becomes pure, let him divorce her before he has intercourse with her or keep her. For this is the waiting period that Allah commanded for women to be divorced."
طلقت امرأتي على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وهى حائض فذكر ذلك عمر لرسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: مره فليراجعها ثم ليدعها حتى تطهر ثم تحيض حيضة أخرى فإذا طهرت فليطلقها قبل أن يجامعها أو يمسكها، فإنها العدة التي أمر الله أن يطلق لها النساء
'Ubayd Allah said: I asked Nafi'
"What did you do with the divorce? He said: One, and I counted it".
