"And every sister and her daughter and the daughter of her daughter, and the daughter of every brother and his son and his daughter, and the daughter of his father and her daughter, however far down the line, and every paternal aunt and maternal aunt, however far up the line, and mutual cursing is forbidden for those who have exchanged curses."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He said, "And every sister and her daughter and the daughter of her daughter", based on the saying of Allah the Exalted, what is it?
and your sisters وأخواتكم
And her daughter, based on His saying
and the daughters of [your] brothers وبنات الأخ
. "And the daughter of every brother and his son and his daughter", based on His saying
and the daughters of [your] brothers وبنات الأخ
. "Now, however far down the line, and every paternal aunt and maternal aunt, however far up the line". Every paternal aunt and maternal aunt, however far up the line—how do they go up? It becomes a paternal aunt to your father or your mother. So, every paternal aunt to your father or your mother, or a maternal aunt to your father or your mother, or to your grandfather, or to your grandfather's father, or the like, is a maternal or paternal aunt to you. The rule is that every paternal aunt of a person is a paternal aunt to his descendants, and every maternal aunt of a person is a maternal aunt to what? To his descendants.
He said, "And mutual cursing is forbidden for those who have exchanged curses", as a permanent prohibition. Mutual cursing is forbidden for those who have exchanged curses. And what does mutual cursing mean here? Is it the li'an between the spouses?

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes, if he accuses her of zina and charges her with zina, and he has no proof, and she does not confess, then he performs the li'an. They appear before the judge, and the husband testifies regarding his wife that she committed zina, and in the fifth oath he says, "And upon me is the curse of Allah if I am among the liars." Then she responds to him and denies what he said, and in the fifth oath she says, "And upon me is the anger of Allah if he is among the truthful." After that, they separate, and it is not permissible for him to marry her ever again, permanently. If someone were to say, "The wives of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) are forbidden permanently, based on the saying of Allah the Exalted
or to marry his wives after him, ever ولا أن تنكحوا أزواجه من بعده أبدا
[Al-Ahzab 33:53]
," we would say, yes, but that ruling has ended now. It ended by what? By their death. There is no need to mention that unless we are listing the special characteristics of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), in which case it is fine to say that one of his characteristics is that his wives are not to be married after him.
