If a man has intercourse with a woman to make her lawful for her husband without their knowledge, should they be separated?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : If a man has intercourse with a wife ... and makes her lawful ... without knowledge.

The Shaykh : Knowledge of whom?

The questioner : The husband and wife, without their knowledge, and then he divorced her. Do we say she becomes lawful for her husband?

The Shaykh : No, she does not become lawful if we know that he is a muhallil; she does not become lawful. But if they did not know, they are safe from the curse. The muhallil and the one for whom she was made lawful are cursed. If they did not know, they are safe from the curse.

The questioner : If they found out after a period of time, should they be separated?

The Shaykh : They should be separated, yes.
