The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) stated, in what he quoted from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:, Sahih Muslim 1864: In this hadith, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) negated migration after the conquest, saying: : And this negation is not in its generality, meaning that migration was not abolished by the conquest, but rather: Sunan Abi Dawud 2479Sahih (Al-Albani) as that came in the hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). However, the intended meaning of the negation here is the negation of migration from Makkah, as the author (may Allah have mercy on him) said, because Makkah, after the conquest, became a land of Islam, and it will not return to being a land of disbelief thereafter. Therefore, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) negated that there would be migration after the conquest, meaning after the conquest of Makkah. Makkah had been under the control of the polytheists, and they had expelled the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) from it, so he migrated (peace and blessings be upon him) by the permission of his Lord to al-Madinah. After eight years, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned to Makkah as a conqueror, triumphant and victorious, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him. The land changed from being a land of disbelief to becoming a land of faith and a land of Islam, and there was no migration from it after that. In this is evidence that Makkah will not return to being a land of disbelief, but it will remain a land of Islam until the Hour stands, or until Allah wills. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: : Meaning that the matter after this is jihad, meaning that the people of Makkah go out from Makkah to jihad, and intention: intention means the righteous intention in jihad in the cause of Allah, and that is by a person intending with his jihad that the word of Allah be the highest. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: : Meaning if your ruler calls you to jihad in the cause of Allah, then go forth as an obligation, and at that time jihad becomes an individual obligation. If people are called to jihad, it is obligatory for them to go forth, and no one is to lag behind except one whom Allah has excused, by the saying of Allah the Exalted: [At-Tawbah 9:38-39]. The important point is that if the imam, the one in authority over the people, calls the people, it is obligatory for them to go forth, and it is not permissible for anyone to lag behind except one whom Allah has excused. This is one of the places where jihad is an individual obligation. The second place: if the enemy besieges their town, meaning: if the enemy comes until they reach the town and besiege it, jihad becomes an individual obligation, and it is obligatory for everyone to fight, even women and elderly men who are capable in this situation, because this is defensive fighting, and there is a difference between defensive fighting and offensive fighting. In this situation, it is obligatory for all the people to go forth to defend their town. The third situation: if the battle lines are present and the two lines meet, the line of the disbelievers and the line of the Muslims, jihad becomes an individual obligation at that time, and it is not permissible for anyone to turn back, as Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Anfal 8:15-16]. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made turning one’s back on the day of battle one of the seven grave sins. The fourth place: if a person is needed, such that the weapon is not known by anyone except one individual, and the people need this man to use this new weapon, for example, then it becomes incumbent upon him to fight in jihad, even if the imam has not called him, because he is needed. In these four places, jihad is an individual obligation, and what is other than that is a collective obligation. The scholars said: “And it is obligatory for the Muslims that there be jihad from among them once a year”, even if only once, they fight the enemies of Allah, fighting them so that the word of Allah is the highest, not in order to defend the homeland simply because it is a homeland, because the one who defends the homeland simply because it is a homeland is among the believer and the disbeliever; even the disbelievers defend their homelands. But the Muslim defends the religion of Allah, so he defends his homeland not because it is his homeland, for example, but because it is an Islamic land, so he defends it to protect the Islam that has settled in this land. Therefore, it is obligatory for us in such circumstances as we live in today, it is obligatory for us to remind all the common people that the call to liberate the homeland and the like of that is an inappropriate call, and that it is necessary to mobilize the people with a religious mobilization, and it is said: We are defending our religion above all else, because our land is a land of religion, a land of Islam, it needs protection, it needs defense, so we must defend it with this intention. As for defending with the intention of nationalism or the intention of patriotism, that is from the believer and the disbeliever, and it does not benefit its owner on the Day of Resurrection. And if he is killed while defending with this intention, he is not a martyr. , Pay attention to this condition: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1646Sahih (Darussalam), not because it is his homeland. What is your homeland? If you fight for the homeland, you are the same as the disbeliever. But fight so that the word of Allah is the highest, represented in your land, or represented in your land, because your land is an Islamic land. In this case, the fighting may be fighting in the cause of Allah. And it was established from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1656Sahih (Darussalam) “Yukallam” means: is wounded. Mishkat al-Masabih 3802: So look at how the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) conditioned martyrdom that the person must fight in the cause of Allah. And fighting in the cause of Allah is: to fight so that the word of Allah is the highest. It is obligatory for students of knowledge to make it clear to people that fighting for the homeland is not correct fighting, but rather one fights so that the word of Allah is the highest, and I fight for my homeland because it is an Islamic homeland, so I protect it from its enemies and the enemies of Islam. With this intention, the intention is correct. And Allah is the One who grants success.
