The Shaykh : As for the hadith of Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): In it, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke about his Lord, Blessed and Exalted is He: : Because the eye is beloved to a person, so if Allah, the Exalted, takes them from him and the person is patient and seeks reward from Allah, then Allah will compensate him with Paradise for them. And Paradise is equal to the entire world; indeed, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1664Sahih (Darussalam) This is because what is in the Hereafter is permanent, not perishing or vanishing, whereas the entire world is perishable and vanishing. Therefore, this distance or this small area of Paradise is better than the world and what is in it.
And know that when Allah, the Exalted, takes a sense from a person among his senses, the general rule is that Allah compensates him in the other senses with what alleviates the pain of losing the sense he lost. Thus, the blind person is granted by Allah strength in sensation and perception, to the extent that some people, when they are blind, are found walking in the market as if they were seeing. They sense the turns in the markets, and they sense the slopes and the heights, until some of them agree with the driver of the car they call a taxi, and he rides with him from the far end of the city to his home, while he tells the driver: turn right, turn left, until he stops him at his door, and the driver does not know the house, but this passenger knows the house while he is riding. Subhan Allah! So when the wisdom of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, necessitates that one of His servants loses a sense among the senses, the general rule is that Allah, the Exalted, replaces it for him with a strong sense and strong perception that compensates for some of what he lost of what Allah took from him. And Allah grants success.
That there is no person from whom Allah takes His two beloveds, meaning his eyes, so that he becomes blind, and then he is patient, except that Allah will compensate him with Paradise for them.
أنه ما من إنسان يقبض الله حبيبتيه يعني : عينيه ، فيعمى ثم يصبر إلا عوضه الله بهما الجنةAnd the space occupied by the whip of one of you in Paradise is better than the world and what is on it.
