Continuation of the explanation of the hadith: “... Indeed, Allah the Exalted said to those who lied when the revelation was sent down the worst thing He has said to anyone, and Allah the Exalted said:

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said regarding the remainder of the hadith of Ka'b ibn Malik and his two companions, Hilal ibn Umayyah and Murarah ibn al-Rabi': That Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, revealed concerning those who were left behind from the expedition of Tabuk and came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to excuse themselves to him, and swore to him that they were excused, that He revealed concerning them the worst of what He revealed concerning any of the people:[At-Tawbah 9:95-96], and the discussion of this has already been mentioned.
Then he (may Allah be pleased with him) clarified that the meaning of His saying:[At-Tawbah 9:118] is: those whose matter the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) left behind, so he did not decide anything regarding them, and the meaning is not those who were left behind from the expedition of Tabuk, because there is a difference between being left behind (khulifa) and missing out (takhallafa). Then he (may Allah be pleased with him) mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out from the city on a Thursday, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) loved to set out on a Thursday, but that was not a permanent rule; sometimes he would set out on a Saturday, as he did on his last journey in the Farewell Pilgrimage, and perhaps he would set out on other days, but mostly he would set out on a Thursday. He mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned to the city in the late morning, and that he entered the mosque and prayed two units in it, and this was part of his Sunnah (recommended practice) (peace and blessings be upon him): that when he arrived in his land, he would not begin with anything before the mosque, but rather he would go to the mosque and dismount his camel at it, then enter and pray two units. And this is from the Sunnah (recommended practice) that when you arrive in your land, you stop your car at the mosque and enter and pray two units, whether it is at the beginning of the day or at the end of it, even after the afternoon prayer, or after the dawn prayer, because this is a prayer that has a cause, and there is no prohibition regarding a prayer that has a cause; whenever its cause is found, it is permissible to perform it. It is necessary for a person, when he arrives in his land, to begin with the mosque before anything else, and it appears that if he prays in the first mosque he passes by in the land, that is sufficient, meaning it is not obligatory that he pray in the mosque of his neighborhood where he lives, but rather if he prays in any mosque of the land, the Sunnah (recommended practice) is fulfilled. And success is from Allah.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said regarding the remainder of the hadith of Ka'b ibn Malik and his two companions, Hilal ibn Umayyah and Murarah ibn al-Rabi': That Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, revealed concerning those who were left behind from the expedition of Tabuk and came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to excuse themselves to him, and swore to him that they were excused, that He revealed concerning them the worst of what He revealed concerning any of the people:
(95) They will swear by Allah to you when you return to them that you would leave them alone. So leave them alone; indeed they are evil; and their refuge is Hell as recompense for what they had been earning. (96) They swear to you so that you might be satisfied with them. But if you should be satisfied with them - indeed, Allah is not satisfied with a defiantly disobedient people.
