The reader: The author (may Allah have mercy on him) transmitted in the context of the hadith of Ka'b: " إن الله تعالى قال للذين كذبوا حين أنزل الوحي شر ما قال لأحد ، فقال الله تعالى : سَيَحْلِفُونَ بِاللَّهِ لَكُمْ إِذَا انْقَلَبْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لِتُعْرِضُوا عَنْهُمْ فَأَعْرِضُوا عَنْهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ رِجْسٌ وَمَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ ، يَحْلِفُونَ لَكُمْ لِتَرْضَوْا عَنْهُمْ فَإِنْ تَرْضَوْا عَنْهُمْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَرْضَى عَنِ الْقَوْمِ الْفَاسِقِينَ ، قال كعب : كنا خلفنا أيها الثلاثة عن أمرِ أولئك الذين قبل منهم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ، حين حلفوا له ، فبايعهم واستغفر لهم ، وأرجأ رسولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أمرنا حتى قضى الله تعالى فيه بذلك . قال الله تعالى : وعلى الثلاثة الذين خلفوا وليس الذي ذكر مما خُلفنا تخلفنا عن الغزو ، وإنما هو تخليفه إيانا وإرجاؤه أمرنا عمن حلف له واعتذر إليه فقبل منه Indeed, Allah the Exalted said to those who lied when the revelation was sent down, the worst of what He has said to anyone, and Allah the Exalted said: They will swear by Allah to you when you return to them that you should turn away from them, so turn away from them; indeed, they are impure, and their destination is Hell, a recompense for what they used to earn. They swear to you that you may be pleased with them, but if you are pleased with them, then indeed Allah is not pleased with the people who are open sinners. Ka'b said: We were the three who were left behind regarding the matter of those whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) accepted from when they swore to him, so he made a pact with them and sought forgiveness for them, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) postponed our matter until Allah the Exalted decreed it thus. Allah the Exalted said: And as for the three who were left behind, and what is mentioned is not that we were left behind in missing the expedition, but rather that he left us behind and postponed our matter from those who swore to him and excused themselves to him, so he accepted from them. It is agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
