The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said, in what he quoted from Jabir ibn 'Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) and his father (may Allah be pleased with him)
In this hadith, there is evidence of the eagerness of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) to rush into righteous deeds, and that they do not delay in them. This was their characteristic, and by this they had honor in this world and in the Hereafter. Similar to this is and they did not delay in charity, rather they gave charity even from their jewelry.
And in the hadith of Jabir, among the benefits is that whoever is killed in the cause of Allah is in Paradise. But who is the one who is killed in the cause of Allah? The one who is killed in the cause of Allah is the one who fights so that the word of Allah is the supreme one. He does not fight out of tribal loyalty, nor out of bravery, nor out of showing off, but only so that the word of Allah is the supreme one. As for the one who fights out of tribal loyalty, such as those who fight for the sake of Arab nationalism, for example, then these are not martyrs. And that is because fighting for the sake of Arab nationalism is not in the cause of Allah, because it is tribal loyalty.
And likewise, the one who fights out of bravery, meaning the one whose bravery compels him to fight because he is brave. And the general rule is that if a person is characterized by a trait he loves to act upon, then if he is killed, this is also not in the cause of Allah.
And likewise, the one who fights out of showing off, and may Allah protect us from that, so that his position is seen, and that he is a man who fights the enemies, who fights the disbelievers. Then he is not in the cause of Allah, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said
And in this is evidence of the eagerness of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) to know matters, because this man asked the Prophet (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him), and this was their custom: that they did not let the opportunity pass without asking the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), because they benefited from this in knowledge and action. So the one who knows the Shari'ah, Allah has bestowed upon him the favor of knowledge, and then if he acts upon it, this is another favor. And the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), this was their characteristic: they asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the legal ruling in order to act upon it. This is unlike the state of many people today, who ask about the legal rulings, and then when they know them, they leave them and cast them behind their backs, as if they do not want from knowledge anything but mere theoretical awareness. And this is in reality a clear loss, because the one who leaves the action after knowing it, the ignorant one is better than him.
So if someone says: If we see men fighting and saying, “We are fighting for Islam, defending Islam,” and then one of them is killed, do we testify that he is a martyr? The answer is: No, we do not testify that he is a martyr, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saidMishkat al-Masabih 3802 And his saying Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1656Sahih (Darussalam) indicates that the matter relates to the intention, which is unknown to us but known to Allah. And 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) gave a sermon one day and said: “O people, you say so-and-so is a martyr and so-and-so is a martyr, and perhaps he has loaded his camel with stolen war spoils.” Meaning he has loaded it with what was taken unlawfully. But say, meaning do not say like that, “but say: whoever dies or is killed in the cause of Allah, he is a martyr.” So do not testify for a specific person that he is a martyr, except for the one for whom the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) testified, for then you testify for him. As for anyone other than this, say a general statement. Say: “Whoever is killed in the cause of Allah is a martyr, and we hope that he is among the martyrs.” And the like of that. May Allah grant success.

The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said, in what he quoted from Jabir ibn 'Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) and his father
That a man said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of Uhud: O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if I fight until I am killed? He said: You are in Paradise. So he threw away the dates that were with him, then he advanced and fought until he was killed.

That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed the people on the day of 'Id, then he advanced and descended, and he advanced to the women and addressed them and ordered them to give charity. So a woman among them would take her earrings and her ring and throw them into the garment of Bilal, who collected them, until he gave them to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
And in the hadith of Jabir, among the benefits is that whoever is killed in the cause of Allah is in Paradise. He was asked about the man who fights out of tribal loyalty, and the man who fights out of bravery, and the man who fights to be seen in his position. Which of these is in the cause of Allah? He said: Whoever fights so that the word of Allah is the supreme one, he is in the cause of Allah.

No one is wounded in God's path, and God knows best those who are wounded in His path, without coming on the day of resurrection with his wound spouting blood, the colour being that of blood but the fragrance that of musk.
