This purification is both a physical purification and a spiritual purification. As for it being a physical purification, that is apparent, because a person washes his face, hands, and feet and wipes his head. The head was in a position to be washed just as the other limbs are washed, but Allah made it easier regarding the head because the head contains hair and is the highest part of the body. If the head were washed, especially if it has hair, it would be a hardship for people, especially in the days of winter. But out of the mercy of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), He made the obligation for the head to be wiping only. So when a person performs wudu, there is no doubt that he purifies the limbs of wudu with a physical purification. This indicates the perfection of Islam, where it is obligatory for its adherents to purify these limbs, which are generally visible and prominent.
