Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: The author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted: “From Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:
Every Muslim has a charity due from him. He said: What if he finds nothing? He said: He works with his hands, benefits himself, and gives charity. He said: What if he is unable to do so? He said: He helps the needy person in distress. He said: What if he is unable to do so? He said: He enjoins good or what is right. He said: What if he does not do that? He said: He refrains from evil, for that is a charity.
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 18:1346
