The reciter: The author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted:
“From Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would deliver a sermon, his eyes would redden, his voice would rise, and his anger would intensify until he was like a warner to an army, saying, “May your morning and evening be [a time of] [warning]” [sic], and saying, “I was sent with the Hour as these two,” joining his index and middle fingers, and saying, “As for what follows, the best of speech is the Book of Allah, the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the worst of matters are those newly invented, and every religious innovation is misguidance.” Then he would say, “I am more worthy of every believer than himself. Whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his family, and whoever leaves behind a debt or dependents, it is for me and upon me.”
Muslim narrated it”.
