Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his fathers and all his Companions:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted: “From ‘Abdullah ibn Zam‘ah (may Allah be pleased with him): أنه سمع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب ، وذكر الناقة والذي عقرها ، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : إذ انبعث أشقاها : انبعث لها رجل عزيز عارم منيع في رهطه، ثم ذكر النساء فوعظ فيهن فقال : يعمد أحدكم فيجلد امرأته جلد العبد ، فلعله يضاجعها من آخر يومه ، ثم وعظهم في ضحكهم من الضرطة، لم يضحك أحدكم مما يفعل That he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon, and he mentioned the she-camel and the one who gored it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When the most wretched of them arose, a man of high status, fierce and strong among his people, arose for it. Then he mentioned women and admonished them, saying: ‘One of you strikes his wife with the beating of a slave, and perhaps he will lie with her on the last day of his life.’ Then he admonished them regarding their laughter at flatulence, saying: ‘None of you laughs at what he does.’”, agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim”.
