The Shaykh : The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "The chapter on visiting the people of goodness, loving them, keeping their company, and seeking to visit them":
The people of goodness are the people of knowledge, faith, and righteousness. Loving them is obligatory, because the strongest bond of faith is love for the sake of Allah and hatred for the sake of Allah. So whenever a person’s love follows the love of Allah, and his hatred follows the hatred of Allah, that is what leads to attaining the nearness of Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
And if you sit with the people of goodness, you are in a state of goodness. For the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) compared the righteous companion to a carrier of musk: either he gives you some, or he sells it to you, or you find a pleasant scent from him.
Likewise, you should ask them to visit you and come to you, because of the goodness in their coming to you.
Then the author mentioned the story of Musa (peace be upon him) with al-Khidr. Musa said to his young man:[Al-Kahf 18:60]: because Allah informed him that He had a servant among His servants to whom Allah had granted mercy from Him and taught him knowledge from His side. So Musa went seeking this man until he met him. Allah the Exalted mentioned their story in detail in Surat al-Kahf, and discussion of it will come if Allah wills, and Allah knows best.
