The reader: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) transmitted, in the context of the hadiths in the chapter on fulfilling the covenant and keeping the promise: "It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih al-Bukhari 33 It is agreed upon.
In a narration added by Muslim:Mishkat al-Masabih 55Muttafaqun 'alayh (Zubair `Aliza'i).
And from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (may Allah be pleased with them both), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih al-Bukhari 34 Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
From Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim."
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) transmitted in *Riyad al-Saliheen*, in the chapter on fulfilling the covenant and keeping the promise: Narrated by Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: "His sign" means his mark, which is three: Sunan an-Nasa'i 5021Sahih (Darussalam): meaning these are among the signs of the hypocrites. If you see a man who lies when he speaks, breaks his promise when he promises, and betrays when he is trusted, then these are among the signs of hypocrisy, for the foundation of the hypocrite is built upon concealment and covering up. He conceals wickedness and displays goodness; he conceals disbelief and displays faith. The liar is likewise, reporting what is contrary to reality. The one who promises and breaks his promise is likewise, and so is the one who betrays when he is trusted. These are the signs of hypocrisy, may Allah protect us from it.
And in this is a warning against lying, and that it is one of the signs of the hypocrites. Therefore, it is not permissible for a person to lie. However, if he is compelled to use euphemism, which is: figurative interpretation, then there is no harm. For example, if someone asks him about a matter he does not wish others to know, he may speak something contrary to the reality, but in a way that allows for interpretation; this is permissible. As for breaking a promise, it is forbidden. It is obligatory to fulfill the promise, whether you promised money, or promised to help him in something, or any other matter. If you promise, you must fulfill the promise. In this, a person should be specific about appointments and keep them precise. For example, if he says, "I promise you at such and such a place," let him specify the hour, so that if the one who was promised is delayed and the one who made the promise leaves, he has an excuse, so that he does not keep him waiting too long. It has become well-known among some foolish people that they say, "I will make an appointment with you and I will not break my English promise!" They think that those who keep their promises are the English. But the promise that is kept is the promise of the believer. Therefore, you should say, if you promise someone and you want to emphasize it, "It is a believer's promise," so that he does not break it, for only the hypocrite breaks a promise.
: meaning if people trust him with their wealth, or their secrets, or their children, or anything else, he betrays, may Allah protect us from it. This is also a sign of hypocrisy.

The signs of a hypocrite are three: 1. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie. 2. Whenever he promises, he always breaks it (his promise ). 3. If you trust him, he proves to be dishonest.
آية المنافق ثلاث: إذا حدَّث كذب، وإذا وعد أخلف، وإذا اؤتمن خانIn a narration added by Muslim:
Even if he fasts, prays, and asserts that he is a Muslim.
وإن صام وصلى وزعم أنه مسلمAnd from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (may Allah be pleased with them both), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever has the following four (characteristics) will be a pure hypocrite and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy unless and until he gives it up. 1. Whenever he is entrusted, he betrays. 2. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie. 3. Whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous. 4. Whenever he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent, evil and insulting manner.
From Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "If the wealth of Bahrain had come, I would have given you thus, and thus, and thus." But it did not come until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away. When the wealth of Bahrain came, Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered a call to be made: "Whoever has a promise or a debt with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), let him come to us." So I came to him and said to him: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me thus and thus." So he threw a handful for me, and I counted it, and it was five hundred. Then he said to me: "Take twice that amount."
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
