Lord of the worlds, and may prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and all his Companions

The reader: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and all his Companions:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) transmitted, in the context of the hadiths in the chapter on admonition and moderation in it: "From 'Ammar ibn Yasir (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:Sahih Muslim 869 Narrated by Muslim.
From Mu'awiyah ibn al-Hakam al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:Riyad as-Salihin 700 Narrated by Muslim" .
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said in *Riyad al-Salihin*, in the chapter on admonition and moderation in it, and not boring people with what one admonishes them with:
We have previously discussed the verse that the author (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned in this chapter, which is the saying of Allah the Exalted:[An-Nahl 16:125].
Then the author mentioned hadiths, among them: the hadith of 'Ammar ibn Yasir: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him, his family, and his Companions) said:Sahih Muslim 869: meaning that the Friday prayer has two sermons before it, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) says: Sahih Muslim 869: and although this appears to be specifically about the Friday sermon, it is also general, so that in incidental sermons, it is not befitting for a person to be lengthy with people; the shorter it is, the better, for two reasons:
The first reason is that people do not get bored, and the second reason is that they grasp what was said, because when speech is long, some of it is lost. So if it is short, concise, and comprehensive, people benefit from it, and they are not bored by it.
As for the length of the prayer, the meaning is that it should be like the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), not the very long one, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) disapproved of Mu'adh and disapproved of the other man; he disapproved of Mu'adh's lengthening of the 'Isha' prayer, and he disapproved of the other man's lengthening of the Fajr prayer, and he said:Sahih al-Bukhari 6110: so the meaning of the length of the prayer here is the length that corresponds to the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). This is if the person is an imam; but if he prays for himself, let him lengthen it as much as he wishes, and no one can stop him, because he is dealing with himself. Then the author mentioned, yes, then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 869
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and all his Companions:

The lengthening of prayer by a man and the shortness of the sermon is the sign of his understanding (of faith). So lengthen the prayer and shorten the sermon
إن طول صلاة الرجل، وقصر خطبته، مَئنة من فقهه، فأطيلوا الصلاة، وأقصروا الخطبةFrom Mu'awiyah ibn al-Hakam al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
Mu'awiyah bin Al-Hakam As-Sulami (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: While I was in Salat with Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), a man in the congregation sneezed and I responded with: 'Yarhamuk-Allah (Allah have mercy on you).' The people stared at me with disapproving looks. So I said: "May my mother lose me. Why are you staring at me?" Thereupon, they began to strike their thighs with their hands. When I saw them urging to me to remain silent, I became angry but restrained myself. When Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) concluded his Salat. I have never before seen an instructor who gave better instruction than he, may my father and mother be sacrificed for him. He neither remonstrated me, nor beat me, nor abused me. He simply said,"It is not permissible to talk during Salat because it consists of glorifying Allah, declaring His Greatness as well as recitation of the Qur'an," or he said words to that effect." I said: "O Allah's Messenger, I have but recently accepted Islam, and Allah has favoured us with Islam. There are still some people among us who go to consult soothsayers." He said, "Do not consult them." Then I said: "There are some of us who are guided by omens." He said, "These things which come to their minds. They should not be influenced by them." (Muslim).
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
