My uncles hurt me with their words in front of people. What should I do with them? Should I cut off ties with them?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : My uncles hurt me with their words in front of people. What should I do with them? Should I cut off ties with them?

The Shaykh : Do not cut off ties with them; rather, maintain ties with them. Whenever the maintenance of ties is accompanied by the severance of ties on the other party's side, it is better. So, perform the obligatory duty of maintaining ties with them, and leave the matter of their severance to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). You will be rewarded if they hurt you and speak about you in front of people; you will only increase in reward and rank. And you will take from their good deeds on the Day of Resurrection if you do not forgive them, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked his Companions one day, saying:
What do you consider to be the bankrupt among you? ما تعدون المفلس فيكم
They said: The one who has no dirham or dinar. He said:
The bankrupt is the one who comes on the Day of Resurrection with good deeds like mountains, and he comes having struck this one and insulted that one and taken the wealth of this one, so this one takes from his good deeds and that one takes from his good deeds and this one takes from his good deeds. If anything remains of his good deeds, otherwise, they take from their sins and cast them upon him, and then he is cast into the Fire.
.
Let the believer beware of wronging his brothers, whether by word or deed, for he will be avenged for them, either in this world or in the Hereafter.
