If you swear at a person and he does not do it, you owe an expiation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: I said to one of my companions, "I have heard that you want to perform Hajj, and I swear by Allah that you will go with me for Hajj." He swore to it and agreed. But when we were about to leave, he said, "I cannot, because I have a debt." Do I owe an expiation? I should mention that I did not say at the end of the gathering, "If you want to perform Hajj?"

Answer: If you swore that he would go with you for Hajj and he did not go, you owe an expiation for the oath.
