The ruling on one who caused the death of her fetus
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: I have several sons and daughters—praise be to Allah—and I became pregnant afterward, but I did not want this pregnancy because I am responsible for a large household, in addition to raising livestock, and no one helps me. So I wanted to abort it, and I was pressing my belly against the wall. After about five months had passed in that pregnancy, it came out of me. After examining it, it became clear to me that there was no life in it at all, but rather it was a piece of dead flesh, and only a small part of the skull had formed in it. I also want to mention that I never felt it move in my belly during the pregnancy.
And I ask you, O Shaykh (may Allah preserve him), what is the ruling in this matter? May Allah reward you with the best reward. And peace be upon you.
Answer: And upon you be peace: If the reality is as you described, then there is nothing upon you except repentance to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) and regret. May Allah guide everyone, and peace.
