No feeding as expiation for accidental killing

Question: His Eminence the Grand Mufti:
Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings:
It was Allah’s decree. After the festival of sacrifice, I was driving my car when a small boy suddenly came out and collided with the car on the right side, and he died as a result. The fault was attributed to me at 30% and to him at 70%, and the child’s father waived his right.
My question, O honorable Shaykh: I am unable to fast two consecutive months. What is your opinion: should I feed people or fast? Since my health condition does not permit it. Peace be upon you and Allah’s mercy and blessings.

Answer: And upon you be peace, and Allah’s mercy and blessings, after that:
You must fast two consecutive months—sixty days—if you are able to do so. As for feeding people, it does not suffice for you in this case.
And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
