Examples of shirk in the attributes: the belief that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) intercedes on the Day of Resurrection for whomever he wills.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Likewise, the belief that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) acts in the gathering on the Day of Resurrection purely by his own will, and intercedes for whomever he wills and is pleased with, this also contradicts the absolute will of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and contradicts the explicit verses that say:
Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ
[Al-Baqarah 2:255]
; therefore, it is not permissible to attribute any of the attributes of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to some of His chosen, righteous servants. Rather, we stand by what Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has given them in terms of virtues and characteristics, neither adding to them nor subtracting from them, but only as He the Exalted said:
And He was a firm support between them. وَكَانَ بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ قَوَامًا
