Explaining the Wisdom in Lengthening the Night Prayer in Ramadan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner, brother A. S. Y. from Al-Khabar in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, asks in his question: What is the wisdom, O Shaykh, in some of the rak'ahs in the last ten nights of Ramadan being long in their recitation, bowing, and prostration, while others are short? We ask for your guidance, may Allah reward you, if Allah wills.

Answer:
As far as I know, there is no authentic sunnah that indicates this in detail, but people have become accustomed to doing so in order to make it easier for people and to encourage them to establish the night prayer.
So, whether one shortens or lengthens, there is no blame in the beginning of the night or the end of it... provided that one takes care to clarify the recitation and be humble in it, and to be at ease in the prayer without rushing. And success is from Allah.
