How was the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the night prayer of Ramadan?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The questioner says: We learned from the previous lesson that one of the conditions for a worship act to be valid is its amount. We have also learned that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did not exceed eleven rak'ahs in Ramadan or in any other time, and that 'Umar gathered the people upon this. So where does the people’s adherence to this number of prayers in Ramadan come from?

The Shaykh : Yes, there is no doubt that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) did not exceed eleven rak'ahs in Ramadan or in any other time. For Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was asked how the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in Ramadan? So she said:
He used not to pray more than eleven rak`at whether in Ramadan or in any other month. ما كان يزيد في رمضان ولا غيره على إحدى عشرة ركعة
Sahih al-Bukhari 3569
.
However, it is established in the authentic hadith of Ibn 'Abbas that he prayed thirteen rak'ahs. Indeed, it also came in some of the hadiths of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). But it is established regarding the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in the two authentic collections from the hadith of Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was asked about the night prayer.
