Standing in Prayer After Ramadan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
As for standing in prayer, it remains prescribed, for it is a recommended practice to stand in prayer every night. The best time is after the middle of the night until the last third, and then one sleeps for the sixth part, because this is the standing of Dawud (peace be upon him). And it is the best standing in prayer: That is, one sleeps for the first half of the night, then stands for the third, and then sleeps for the sixth part until the dawn appears.
This is because this standing includes rest: rest for the body in the first part of the night, and rest for the body in the last part of the night, along with attaining the Divine Descent, which occurs in the last third of the night. Indeed, our Lord (Exalted and Majestic is He) descends every night to the lowest heaven when the last third of the night remains, and He says: (Who is calling Me that I may respond to him? Who is asking Me that I may give him? Who is seeking My forgiveness that I may forgive him?) For this reason, a person finds great pleasure in prayer at this time and in addressing Allah the Exalted, to the extent that the taste of it remains in his heart and never disappears, unless Allah wills otherwise.
So standing in prayer is therefore prescribed at all times.Do not say: When Ramadan ends, it is not that there is no standing in prayer; rather, standing in prayer is at all times and every night, except that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade singling out the night of Friday for standing in prayer, or its day for fasting. So he said: (Do not single out the night of Friday for standing in prayer, nor its day for fasting) For this reason, it is disliked for a person to fast on Friday alone, except for a reason, such as if Friday coincides with the Day of 'Arafah, or the Day of 'Ashura, or if he has a missed fast from Ramadan that he cannot make up except on Friday. In that case, he fasts for the sake of making up the missed fast, not because it is Friday; this is permissible.
