The Ruling on the Adhan for One Praying Alone

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
I am a shaykh who prays at home and cannot go to the mosque. I hear the adhan from the television, then I perform wudu', then I give the adhan and pray the sunnah, then I give the iqamah and pray. Is my practice valid? Is it permissible for me to give the adhan?

Answer:
If you are unable to go to the mosque, there is no blame on you for praying at home. It is prescribed for you to give the adhan if you do not hear the adhan of the town, due to your distance from the mosques.
However, if the mosques are nearby, but you do not hear the adhan because of your weak hearing, it is not prescribed for you to give the adhan; the adhan of the mosque is sufficient.
As for the iqamah, it is prescribed for you to give the iqamah whenever you pray at home.
