The reader: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
He (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Chapter on the recommendation of prioritizing the right hand in everything that falls under the category of honor. Allah the Exalted said:
So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! فأما من أوتي كتابه بيمينه فيقول هاؤم اقرؤوا كتابيه
[Al-Haqqah 69:19]
And He said:
(8) Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? (9) And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? فأصحاب الميمنة ما أصحاب الميمنة وأصحاب المشئمة ما أصحاب المشئمة
[Al-Waqi'ah 56:8-9]
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) liked to prioritize the right hand in all his affairs, in his purification, combing his hair, and putting on his sandals. Agreed upon."

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
We have previously mentioned issues that al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) discussed in the chapter on starting with the right hand in what is intended for honor. He mentioned several issues, including wiping the Black Stone. Likewise, the Yemeni Corner is wiped with the right hand. Also, if a person cannot wipe it, he points to it, and this is done with the right hand, not with both hands as some people do. We see them facing the Black Stone and pointing to it with both hands, but the Sunnah is with one hand only. As for the Yemeni Corner, if you are able to touch it, meaning wipe it with your hand, do so; otherwise, do not point to it, because it is not reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that he pointed to it. Then the author mentioned things in which the left hand is prioritized, saying: such as blowing the nose and spitting, which is done with the left hand. Blowing the nose means when a person sniffs to expel what is in his nose of impurity, it is done with the left hand. Likewise, if he wants to wipe the mucus, it is done with the left hand. Also, entering the place of relief and exiting it: when entering the place of relief, the left foot is advanced, and as for exiting it, it has been mentioned previously that the right foot is advanced. Likewise, if he exits the mosque, he advances the left foot. Also, if he wants to remove the sandal, or remove the leather sock, or remove the garment, or remove the trousers, he starts by removing the left foot, and the right foot is the first to be put on, and the left foot is the first to be removed. Likewise, cleaning oneself after relieving oneself is done with the left hand. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade a man from cleaning himself with his right hand, because the right hand is the place of honor, and it is used for eating and drinking, so it should be kept away from impurities. Also, everything disgusting is for the left hand, while the right hand is for what involves honor and for other things that involve neither honor nor disgrace. So the left hand is for impurity, and the right hand is for everything else. Know that when watches that are worn on the hand appeared, people started wearing them on the left hand in order to keep the right hand free, without a watch that would cause discomfort to a person during movement, because the movement of the right hand is more than the movement of the left hand, and a person needs to move with the right hand more. So they put it on the left hand because that is easier, and because if the right hand is the one that does most of the work, the watch might be exposed to something that damages it. Therefore, they put it on the left. Some people thought that it is better to put it on the right based on the prioritization of the right hand, but this is a supposition not based on correctness, because it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he used to wear a ring on his right hand and sometimes on his left hand. Perhaps his wearing it on his left hand was more frequent to make it easier to take the ring with the right hand from the left hand. The watch is closest to the ring, so do not prefer the right hand over the left, nor the left over the right in this matter. The matter is broad in this; if you wish, wear it on the right, and if you wish, on the left. There is no blame in any of this. Then the author mentioned two verses from the Book of Allah, which are His saying:
So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! فأما من أوتي كتابه بيمينه فيقول هاؤوم اقرؤوا كتابيه
[Al-Haqqah 69:19]
This happens on the Day of Resurrection, when people are given their books, meaning the books of their deeds in which a person's actions are recorded, either in the right hand or the left hand. Whoever is given his book in his right hand—may Allah make me and you among them—takes it with joy and says to people, "Look at me, read my book," just as we see now a student when he receives his passing grade, he shows it to his friends and relatives with joy. As for whoever is given his book in his left hand, he is the opposite of that; he wishes he had not been given the book, let alone that others look at it. As for the second verse mentioned by the author, it is His saying:
Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? وأصحاب الميمنة ما أصحاب الميمنة
[Al-Waqi'ah 56:8]
meaning
And as for the companions of the left, what are the companions of the left? وأصحاب المشأمة ما أصحاب المشأمة
So Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) mentioned that people will be in three categories on the Day of Resurrection: the companions of the right, the companions of the left, and the foremost. The foremost are the brought near, the companions of the right are successful, and the companions of the left are perishing. So they are three types on the Day of Resurrection.
